Jeremy and Will have had some interesting conversations this week. First, while watching the beloved shark week:
"Dad, why are the sharks eating the baby seals? That will hurt them!""Because they need to eat too. Did you know that we eat meat too? We eat chicken, pigs and cows."
"But I don't want to eat cows! Oh, the poor cows!"
I think that our Baconator is now a vegetarian.
The second happened on their way to the store when they passed a cemetery.
"Dad? What are those statues?"
So Jeremy told him how we all get older and die eventually. Apparently it got very quiet in the car for a few minutes, and then Will said in a teary voice, "Dad, I don't want to die!". Then they talked about how we get to live with Jesus again after we die and it seemed to help him feel better.
I don't know if I'm ready for these kind of conversations yet. Has anyone figured out a way to stop your kids from growing up? I'd like to pause this age for a little while longer, I love this kid.
