Chicago Car Show

We have always loved going to car shows, but haven't gone to the one here in Chicago because we've heard how crazy busy it is.  Our friends, the Bowlers, invited us to go with them to the black tie charity event for the car show.  We were so excited!  We tried out a couple of our favorite cars, the Fiat (for Jeremy, seriously) and the Tundra for the kids and me.  Plus we got to try all sorts of food from restaurants from all over Chicago.  But here are some pictures of our dream cars.

I love Jaguars.  I don't know why, but don't I look good in one?  

This one was in a superbowl commercial so Jeremy took a picture of it.

Sledding

It was finally warm enough one day that we actually went out sledding!

We weren't out long but we had the hill all to ourselves.

Will went down by himself a few times, and a few times with his sister too. 

Their favorite thing though was sliding down the hill on their stomachs using their "penguin power" (we've been watching a lot of Wild Kratts lately).

This little one laughed and laughed and refused to go down the hill any other way other than on her stomach after she tried it.  Which was okay, it gave Jeremy and I a chance to go down on the tube together.  It was so fun to get out and be able to enjoy the snow for a minute, or 30. 

On another miraculously warm day, we built a snow mound man.  Yes, we were too lazy to actually make it the typical 3 snowball man. 

Hooray!  Mom and Dad let us outside!!

Then it was apparently time for a nap.

But Cora got us all back on track.

Stuck inside

This year has been one of the coldest ones in 30 years here in Chicago.  We've had 4 "snow" days, not because of snow, but because it was dangerously cold outside.  Like -45 degrees with the wind chill cold.  So we've been stuck inside, a lot.  But the kids have been pretty good about playing together and watching a lot of TV.

One day they decided to make a fort.

Another day they were taking turns pushing eachother off the couch on the beanbag.  

And another day they climbed into this pack and play I had set up for a friends kid.  I don't know what they were giggling about for so long, but they seemed to enjoy it. 

I love snow, but I also like to be able to play in it.  That being said, I can't wait for it to warm up to 30 degrees, I'd love to go sledding!
