Last day of Kindergarten

Will was so excited for his last day of school and their field day and lunch at school.  He got himself all ready to go and when I went to drop him off I asked if he wanted me to hang out with him.  The reply was,"Nope, I see my friends, I'm going to go play."  Okay then mister big boy.

This little girl sobbed when we dropped off Will and she didn't get to go too.  Well, now she has all summer to hang out with him.

After school the kids hung out for a bit.

Will is going to miss seeing these kids each day.  I'm so glad he's made such good friends this year, and glad he can still hang out with them.  I'm so proud of Will and how much he has grown up this year.

Spring has sprung..Finally!

It was cold here for so long, I honestly couldn't remember what it was like to be warm, or even hot.  But the past couple months the trees have come back (most of them, it was a tough winter after all!) and we have finally been able to hang out outside.  For some reason, being outside brings tranquility to our home.  Maybe it's because it chills me out and I am more patient, or maybe it's that the kids can run and yell without me yelling back.  Anyway, here are some fun things we like to do when we hang out outside.

We love going to the farmers market in Downers Grove.  There is always something tasty and if you are lucky, some good music to dance to with a new friend.

It's hard to see in this picture, but in the background Will is actually catching up with one of his friends.  It's so fun to run into people.

We love friends coming to visit and being able to hang out outside.

Going to the park and enjoying treats (she had a few cookies, can you tell by her face?) is always fun.

The kids loved when Jeremy and I left this air mattress outside.  We'd put it out there so we could watch the meteor shower one night (there were supposed to be up to 500 an hour around 1 in the morning, but I saw one and Jeremy saw three).  Jeremy took a nap out there during the day and the kids had fun relaxing on it.

Gymnastics

This year one of Will's good friends introduced him to gymnastics.  He loved it and we loved that it would help him with some of his fears, such as heights, and help him realize what how strong he is and the cool tricks he could do.  Last Saturday, the gym had their Spring Show and we got to see how far he has come in the last six months.

4 months ago someone had to hold his hand doing this.  He jumped off with a perfect dismount.  So proud of this guy!

It's really hard to see him in this picture, but he is in the back upside down on the rings.  

This Will's coach John.  He was awesome at pushing Will and showing him he really could climb ropes and swing upside down like a monkey and master cartwheels.  So  proud of you Will!
