Silly kids

For some reason, this past Saturday everything our kids did seemed incredibly funny to me, which is great since the rest of the week I was easily irritated by the normal things that they do (poke my bum, sneeze in my face, wipe boogers on me, you get the idea).  I'm going to share the two things that just make me giggle even now when they are in trouble for spilling something or playing in the dog water.

We'll start with Will, who HATES spicy things.  At lunch Jeremy decided to dare him to lick some Tabasco sauce off his plate.  I thought there was no way that he would do it, and then Jeremy bribed him with a magical $2.  "You'll give me $2 if I eat it?!  Okay!"  So he did.  Poor kids face was priceless after he licked it up, we had to get him a drink of milk pretty quick, but man, I was pretty proud of him.  Then he proceeded to try and bribe me to try and taste it.  "You should try it Mom!  It's so tasty!"  I simply told him I did it 15 years ago and didn't need to again, and neither did he.

Cora loves our sweet old dog Festus.  What is not to love?  She will give him love taps and he will give her kisses because he knows that she will secretly feed him during dinner and whenever I give her snacks.  Well, Festus has really gotten shaggy lately, but I haven't wanted to shave him because spring has yet to show its face around here, in fact it snowed again today.  After mopping up the floor a million times from him last week, I decided I was going to shave him anyway.  So while Jeremy and the kids made and ate dinner, I took Festus upstairs and shaved him and gave him a bath.  Whenever I do this to Festus, he knows he looks good and prances around with an extra bounce in his step.  So we came downstairs, bounding if you will, and Cora got excited to see me.  Then she saw Festus and began to cry.  Sweet Festus kept trying to lick away her salty tears and it would just make the poor girl cry even harder.  I tried to get her to see that it was still her nice friend Festus, but she was too freaked out to even look at him.  It has taken two days, but she can now see Festus without crying and they are good buds once again.
