We moved. Not just a little move, but 1700+ miles away and different time zone and totally different climate. I hadn't been to the place, but we (Jeremy and me) both felt that it is the right place and right time to be here. It was a long drive to get here, it took 2 1/2 days, countless hours listening to Taylor Swift songs to appease my 3 year old princess and lots of time pondering over all the people and places that I was driving away from. I'm not going to lie, right now I would love to move back, back to friends and stores (Kingman is really small!) and parks and Midwest friendliness. But I guess I need to grow, and so some painful stretching months are ahead. I'll let you know what I learn. In the meantime, enjoy some pics from our drive!
My family really misses Busy Bee Bakery. There is only the supermarket bakery here...so sad.
At this place in Illinois this happened...
Our car turned 200,000 miles old.
Cora's place for 3 days. Will decided to ride in the moving truck with Jeremy most of the way so she sat all by herself and was very patient. When patience was gone and the need to get out came on, we put her Taylor Swift CD in and life was good for another hour.
Our first dinner in Kingman was at In and Out Burger. Jeremy and I love it, the kids just love the hats. I think we ate their food.
The beginnings of Cora's room. It took a few days to clear it out.
We did set up the TV right away and that made the kids happy. They hadn't watched much since they were stuck in a car without a DVD player, so they didn't mind too much that they had to sit on boxes and other random things in the living room until we got it situated.
I was really glad we got here a couple weeks early so this clever guy could help me out. Going from a house with 1700 sq ft to a 950 sq ft apartment isn't easy. We still gave a lot of things away after moving in.
I think the day we moved in has been the cloudiest I've seen it in the past month. So fitting for us, I think it has rained everytime we've moved in somewhere!
