Snowed In

On Super Bowl Sunday, we had a blizzard hit Chicago.  Church was cancelled and for the first time in years and years, Jeremy watched football all morning long.  But in between shows and cooking up good food he shoveled twice.  Each time there was 6+ inches of snow.  And in the morning, it took both of us to shovel out with an additional 6-7 inches of snow.  When its heavy, its tough work, I was sweating pretty good when we were done.  My neighbor called it heart attack snow, and I kind of laughed, but on the news that night there had been several heart attack deaths reported due to shoveling snow.

Before the blizzard hit, this was around 2pm.  Keep in mind we had no snow before this.

On Monday, school was cancelled and Jeremy found out after driving in to work (45 min each way) that he didn't have to work.  Sure wish they would have called him and saved him a couple hours.

But he got home in time to enjoy the last bit of sunlight and some fun in the snow.

Cora liked walking in the snow, but had a hard time not falling because it was so deep.  And then she would be stuck.

She eventually just settled on eating snow.  Will had wanted to build a snow fort, but had some problems with his gloves and was too cold to play.  I'm still waiting to help him build that fort...maybe in a couple more days:)
